Optical illusion staircase

Milano-based collective “Storage Associati” created this magnificent staircase in a private house. The staircase is elegant, modern and dramatic; also with different perspectives, it fools your eyes. They succeeded in converting a simple staircase into a changeable piece of art.

Now take a look at this staircase.Another look.Every time you look at it you’ll see a different thing, depending on your viewing perspective, the steps change their appearance, you either see a sculptured staircase with bars surrounding the sides or you’ll notice that it’s replaced by a closed space that looks like a separate closed room or maybe an artistic sculptured wall.

Then you’ll realize that this is not sculpture, a wall, it’s not even solid, but an optical illusion formed by long, flattened metal beams lowering from the ceiling, some of them reaching the floor others just stop at certain steps.
