‘Luminous’ is the world’s largest interactive light instillation with over 557 participating windows, covering a distance of 150 meters. It has been designed by the Australian lighting company Klik Systems in Darling Quarter, Sydney’s newest commercial area.
LEDs are installed along the sills of the windows which cover the facades of the site’s two campus style buildings, developing the building’s surfaces into digital canvases whicha re powered 100% by rooftop solar panels. These canvases can be interacted with and ‘drawn upon’ by members of the public near and far through several interfaces. In the area surrounding the building are interactive booths for physical visitors to create and send their designs to be displayed. Also possible is access through the web. By way of an app, or through the website myinteractivecity.com, participants from all over the world can become a part of the art
