Together, the people of Tel Aviv have stacked about 500,000 LEGO blocks to form the world’s highest LEGO tower. The LEGO structure paid homage to Omar Sayag, a child who had died of cancer three years ago and who also used to love LEGO blocks.
The sponsors of this event are Young Engineers, which is an international group that offers LEGO enrichment programs, and the City Hall of Tel Aviv. Several other organizations have also participated in the event that lasted from the 12th until the 24th of December.
The 36-m-high LEGO tower was created at Rabin Square in Tel Aviv. The organizers are to submit the tower’s dimensions and its drone footage to earn a Guinness World Records title.
36 meters of Legos! This is the world record that was achieved by Telavivim with this tower built on Rabin Square to pay tribute to Omer, a young Israeli who died of cancer at the age of 8 and was known to be a very big fan of these famous colored bricks. ?
