Huaxin Tiandi Office Campus’s Design Concept
How can an Huaxin Tiandi Office Campus contribute to the liveliness of its surrounding neighborhood? In this particular case, the vast garden, initially designed for employees’ use, is also available to the public as a promenade. A diagonal path provides pedestrians a route from Yishan Road to Tianlin Road through a natural landscape, offering an escape from the city’s traffic.
The placement of buildings has been strategically planned to open up the area and turn it into a lively and inclusive space that brings nature back to the city’s heart. The architectural design of Huaxin Tiandi Office Campus is characterized by simplicity and unity, providing a peaceful and contrasting environment to the bustling city of Shanghai. The numerous loggias feature colored ceramic tubes, a modern take on bamboo, crafted using traditional Chinese techniques.
The use of various colors and materials in the design creates a sense of movement, giving the Huaxin Tiandi Office Campus building a dynamic appearance that changes depending on the angle from which it is viewed. This project by Ferrier Marchetti Studio represents the firm’s approach to contemporary architecture and its potential to express urban aspirations. It comprises a series of structures, each with a unique shape that blends in with its surroundings while contributing to an overall distinctive personality and a cohesive landscaped environment.
When we think about creating sustainable urban infrastructure, it’s essential to prioritize the human experience in every new project. At Ferrier Marchetti Studio, we take a human-centered approach to design that aims to elevate the overall quality of life by focusing on enjoyment. We don’t just focus on individual buildings but also strive to break down disciplinary boundaries and create holistic experiences. Our ultimate goal is to go beyond the fragmented and de-contextualized urban experience and reintegrate the senses and physical body into the core of our design philosophy.
The joy inherent in the everyday encounters within cities must be rediscovered as a fundamental and life-affirming aspect of urban living. Our endeavors at Ferrier Marchetti Studio celebrate both the intricate and expansive, with a sensory emphasis on materials, details, and craftsmanship. We take pleasure in highlighting the unique qualities of materials in our buildings, including their properties, densities, colors, and textures. This approach underscores our commitment to considering all projects equally valuable, allowing us to reveal the beauty in even the most straightforward endeavors. The Huaxin Tiandi Office Campus serves as an ideal embodiment of our architectural vision.
