Form in motion | Zaha Hadid Architects

The Philadelphia Museum of Art fosters Zaha Hadid Architects’s first exhibition (Sep 2011 – Mar 2012) in Philadelphia, USA that focuses mainly on design objects and furniture in a “coinvolgente” habitat inspired by the interface between architecture and nature.

The “Form in motion” exhibition converts the space into a singular, forceful and fluid “synthesis”, while disintegrating traditional regulations of space and prescriptive notions of diverse systems.
Additionally, it displays an extraordinary environment of a fluctuation form of finished polysterene with vinyl graphics established on advanced curvilinear geometries. Curving sofas, tables, and chairs produced of aluminium, steel and polyurethane occupy the “esposizione”, while jewellery, shoes, and tableware are installed together in small groups longwise a rippling wall.

The Mesa Table is supported by branching, lofted connectors, providing more void than solid, while a table constructed of polished aluminum emerges to hover close to the floor supported by equal invisible forces that provoke the craters on its surface. “Hadid envisions the gallery as an active element in the display of her own designs, and will create an immersive three-dimensional environment” supported Kathryn Bloom Hiesinger, Curator of European Decorative Arts after 1700.
