About BBT Hilltop Restaurant
BBT Hilltop Restaurant is located in Sharq, Kuwait is a multifunctional canopy that serves as an urban installation and a gathering place. It is located in the heart of the business city center and is designed to be a new landmark. Throughout the day, it hosts various activities and provides shade for a drive-in restaurant and an outdoor esplanade.
A playful area was designed on the upper part of the structure, where people can relax and enjoy the scenery while eating or resting. A seating area and playground were built, featuring a slide that incorporates the angle of the canopy. This space can also serve as an outdoor theater for specific performances or even a cinema, provided that the necessary infrastructure is in place.
The box that houses the canopy encompasses the restaurant’s interior and its accompanying logistical spaces. It is covered in a combination of matte paint and metallic mesh on the exterior, while the interior is adorned with glossy white ceramic tiles. The contrast between the red floor and ceiling on BBT Hilltop Restaurant adds to the overall aesthetic. The design also incorporates strategic openings to allow for breathability, ventilation, access, and natural lighting, all of which contribute to creating a desirable and habitable environment.
The constant dialogue between the restaurant and the top of the canopy is achieved through the red spiral staircase, creating harmony and connecting the interior and exterior spaces.
The restaurant’s construction is made with raw materials to align with their concept of using natural products in their dishes. They also incorporate advanced technology in their assembly process to efficiently serve their customers, ensuring a high-quality meal in a short amount of time.
