BBVA BANCOMER Stadium
Estadio BBVA Bancomer in Monterrey, Mexico is a majestic welcome that draws passionate fans in to a world-class stadium that represents Monterrey’s heritage and future, while challenging the expectations of what the Latin American soccer stadium experience can be.
Inspired by the region’s history of brewing and steel manufacturing, the stadium’s self-supported tripodal structure is purposefully sculptural in form and flanked by rolled steel trusses clad in aluminum, paying tribute to the steels mills that once thrived in the city. The silhouette of brewing stills inspired the asymmetrical sweeping shape of the stadium that lowers to the south framing a stunning vista to the famous Cerro de la Silla Mountain.
The stadium’s design incorporates the most significant premium experience in any soccer stadium across the globe, with neighborhood seating spaces designed to accommodate the more hospitality-driven fan. Inspired by the natural beauty of Monterrey and the city’s rich history, the stadium will become an authentic destination to watch a game while redefining stadia design in Mexico.
Through creative urban planning, an understanding of global trends shaping the fan experience and a progressive, sophisticated vision for the sport’s future in the region, Estadio BBVA Bancomer will transform an entire region’s expectations.
