Continuing on Dubai’s lavish tradition of building eye-catching architectural initiatives, they are now planning to build the world’s tallest of twin tower as part of a grand development called “Dubai Creek Harbor.” This pair of structure will be the centerpiece of landmark within the master plan that is three times the size of the current downtown Dubai.
This gigantic scheme is a joint venture between EMAAR properties and Dubai Holding and will be constructed adjacent to the wildlife sanctuary. A brand new visitor center is planned as part of the development. The area that encompasses the commercial districts is, as usual, linked by leisure developments that expand into the region’s residential neighborhoods.
The first phase of this master project will be a cluster of six towers that is complemented with retail outlets and three luxury hotels that can accommodate 39,000 residential units.
What needed to be examined and watch as this project unfolds is how this lavish project will address to the rising needs of coexistence with the ghettos and immigrant worker accommodations needed to fuel such development. Will we see the approach that the SCI-Arc students proposed as a parody as a response to the New York “poor door” incident?
