The ferra is a high-end residential tower designed by Pininfarina. At 102 meters in height the 104 unit ultra luxury condo tower stands out. The external façade showcases a duality coexisting to create a whole by the use of red and black colours on different sides. The red according to the architects is female, it is animated without sinuous lines generating strong emotions and the black, being the male is treated with tense and fast lines portraying the values of speed and performance. This play on the facades of male and female expressions adds some dynamism to this high-end condo, all this capped by the green sky terraces and the wooden treatment at the topmost floors.
In order to really convey the message of this duality inherent in the architectural piece, the facades on both sides are really worked to the details.Sophistication and great detail is used in treating the facades, the ventilation openings on the balconies are expressed as holes on the female side and nervous lines on the male side. The use of innovative technical material for the external cladding in addition to the use of wood on the balconies strengthens this duality of the tower. The use of lighting in a particular way brings out the dynamism whiles reinventing the iconic shape. Ferra’s identity is expressed in this dichotomy of dynamic shapes.
