Graffiti From A New Perspective
The Portuguese artist, Odeith, has taken street art to a whole new level with his 3D graffiti. Spraying the walls with interesting perspectives, his works became very iconic with their amazing 3D effects. Odeith uses corners of streets and rooms to display his graffiti skills; by doing so he skillfully plays with perspective giving his art the illusion of floating between surfaces.
With this art, Odeith stands out from the crowd. His eye-catching graffiti seems to jump out of corners, engaging passersby in a new experience. The very high skills and technique and the deep understanding of perspective, shadows, and the use of surfaces to deliver strong creative messages is clearly present in his art.
Starting off in the mid 80’s, when Odeith picked up his first spray can, he wanted to create something different. In the 90’s Odeith “start[ed] with that crazy anamorphic idea, and it worked well.” His mind-boggling compositions incorporate the ground and the ambient lighting to enhance the illusion of floating between surfaces. It also tricks the eyes into believing that the art is giving off light in some cases, and casting strong shadows on the ground in others. Odeith’s graffiti is definitely an admirable dynamic piece of street art.
