Limm – digital art collection | Deskriptiv

Limm is a digital art collection by Germany based duo known as Deskriptiv. It explores the complexity of forms through processes subjected to varying parameters. The process is completely digitized which removes any form of restriction.

The designers have taken and enclosed sets of sample points in a 3D vector space with an emphasis on form variation. This parametric programming hence gives rise to process dependent unique patterns. The ensuing designs are them showcased with single color backgrounds looking like pieces of extremely complex thread art.

The designs hence instead of being based on a notion of the end product are completely responsible for the process of creation. These processes can take various names like algorithms, programs, and procedures in which the designer introduces parameters.

These parameters can be used to both vary the process and its evaluation. then the designer inspects and modifies the outcomes as required. Hence new and more complex designs are created by these iterations.
