The prototype was awarded the “best designs of 2012” by design museum. It was described that it “has a flat top that appears as if it is a surface of subtle ripples and waves, which funnels downwards into four vortexes to create the table legs”.

‘I have always been interested in the concept of fluidity,’said Zaha ‘using all the advances in design, material and manufacturing technologies, we are now able to achieve even greater results in the work.’

This table was designed to present still fluidity and the glass material gave the sense of water transparency. The sculpture shows harmony and flow of motion although it is still.

The architect succeeded in introducing the concept of still fluidity facing the manufacturing and technology challenges. However, this doesn’t mean that all people would like to have this piece of furniture imitating water at home. They could see it as a beautiful sculpture but not functional as a home appliance.  In the end, it’s a matter of taste.
