Molecula Lamp
Designed to serve both: a geometrically stunning sculpture, and a fully functioning lamp, the Molecula lamp by the French-Argentinean designer Benjamin Migliore is a uniquely sculptured, elegantly phrased addition to any minimalism enthusiast. The skeletal structure of the lamp, combined with its name “Molecula”, are a clear statement that organic structures can be sophisticated, minimal, and conceptually vivid as suggested by the title of the lamp. The hand-made piece also takes function into consideration, spreading light in every direction throughout the carefully placed LED strips within the inner edges of the “bones” of the lamp. The light distributed by the lamp is itself sculptural, as the designer explains: “Molecula is a functional lamp which can be used as wall or table lamp. Crisp lines and skeletal structure produce a sculpture light. The lamp has an organic structure with its own rounded intersection. In this geometric frame a LED light source is integrated“. The designer is known for his skeletal designs that have received appreciation in architecture and design critics. He has been awarded several awards for his designs, and he is taking part in the interior design of many globally renowned projects such as an Airport in Bejing (China), Theater in St Petersburg (Russia), University in Ben Guerir (Morocco), Hotel in Almaty (Kazakhstan).By: Hazem Raad
