New photos of the apartment interiors of Zaha Hadid’s residential condominium building, 520 West 28th Street, have been released, as the project nears completion. The photos, published by developer Related Companies, reveal the interiors of the 4,500 sqft Unit 20 and the 1,700 sqft Unit 12, which were the earliest to be finished. Unit 20 was designed by minimalist Jennifer Post, and Unit 12 was designed by West Chin. That is besides the built-ins and finishings by Zaha Hadid.
Unit 20 of the 520 West 28th Street Luxury Condos:
Unit 20 includes four bedrooms, and it has views of the High Line and the Empire State building. Its interior features white and neutral hues with occasional bright colored elements. “I am usually the creative visionary behind both the architecture and interior design of a space. Here, I am respectfully creating a vision that coexists with the vision of one of the architecture’s greatest minds,” said Jennifer Post. “This prompted me to really consider every move, every decision in a different, special way.” Post explained that her choices accentuate Zaha’s vision while keeping her identity. The cost of this unit is $15 million.
As for Unit 12, it is suitable for single dwellers or couple, and it costs $4.9 million. The design approach followed by West Chin for this unit features minimalistic functionality and make good use of light coming in from the large windows.
520 West 28th street has a total of 11 storeys with 39 residential units. Their prices range from $4.95m to $50m, and it will be completed in two months, by June 2017.
