Nka Foundation Seeks Support for Winners of its 4th Earth Architecture Competition
Nka Foundation’s 4th Earth Architecture Competition was a success.As the construction of the best design entries is our priority, from February 2017 to July 2019, we are collaborating with some of the design teams in the competition and new partners to organize construction workshops to build the designs based on site at Abetenim in Ghana.Join us as a workshop participant or partner to help build selected design entries in the 4th EARTH ARCHITECTURE COMPETITION: Designing a School for Ghana. This is a community architecture project that seeks international participants, project partners at different levels, and Online volunteers to assist the design teams connect to the needed expertise and resources within the volunteer’s region of the world.Each building workshop is open to architects, engineers, interior designers, landscape architects and other interested in building with earth to encourage cross-fertilization of knowledge and skills. Students can use the opportunity for internship, thesis or personal research. The workshop participants will immerse in the Ashanti culture and lifestyle to explore the local building traditions and collaborate with the community to build the school.In light of these, we are inviting schools of architecture and design, Without Borders organizations, student architecture/design associations, study abroad programs, and community-spirited individuals to join us as partners and supporters to organize the construction workshops to build the design entries.
