I am a monument – CCTV” is a model of OMA’s CCTV Headquarters in Beijing, and is reinterpreted by Li as a wooden cabinet with multiple hidden storage areas. It was displayed at the Design Miami / 2014 Gallery All, a place where designers can present their own version of curiosities of the present. It was displayed at the Design Miami / 2014 Gallery All, a place where designers can present their own version of curiosities of the present. The cabinet it is a manifesto piece that speaks of modern China, and of people’s need to possess as many things as possible. Additionally, the object is accompanied of an animated installation sees fog, being reminiscent of Beijing’s problem with haze, and also by Chinese Bonsai shrubs. Architecture and designer are naturally linked, but good architecture and good design are born when they incorporate when the artists manage to create fun pieces that also incorporate a social agenda.
