Orchid –Gravity paintings Fabian Oefner
The creative Swiss artist Fabian Oefner strikes with his newest series of “paint action photography” capturing the, what I would like to call, “fusion moment”. It’s capturing the moment when gravity fuse with acrylic paint forming the “orchids”.
The technique Oefner uses is filling a cup with overlapping acrylic paint layers ending with a black color on the top, and then throwing a sphere in the cup. After that, he captures the moment when the splash is formed resulting from the fall.
This moment lasts for only a fraction of a second before everything settles down again but for sure it’s a moment worth to capture! The pictures taken are captioned with captions like “capturing the ephemeral moment in time” or “vibrantly colored Chroma creates the ‘orchid’ shape” or ” the colored paint is modeled by gravity”. All of these are sentences describing the interesting phenomena that create beautiful art. The art of gravity.
