“The fish Bellies” is a public art installation found in the outdoor area of San Marcos University in Texas State. Next to San Marcos river, this installation reflects the dialectics between biology and ecology showing the relationship between the anatomy of the fish and the student’s body shape. In the day it’s more like an organic tableau created to make the students interact with the space through this fish belly structure. In the night, another quality is added to the sculpture. Each piece contains two sensors each. These sensors control luminosity as in the night the frames transform into lightened sculptures that involves different levels of LED lightning. This public art acts as a landmark for the university. It brings students to the site leaving them to explore this outstanding urban furniture.
