There’s nothing unusual with seeing a lamp functioning as a lamp, but a lamp made out of lamps, now that’s interesting. Sebastian Errazuriz’s work is full of humor, providing a refreshing break from how uptight design can be. Simple in idea and concept, this lamp stands on it’s own, rivaling the height of an average person, with large range of motion, allowing it to collapse down on itself and stretch out. The name Ostrich can easily be identified from the lamps appearance, having two slender legs, connected to a core, and then extending up into a single lamp head. All this combines to make the lamp not only a functional piece but a whimsical sculpture as well.
