Sydney Landmark-Inspired “Opera Camper” by Dutch Rob Vos Introduces Luxury to Camping
‘Opera Camper’ is a two-person trailer, with a Sydney Opera House-inspired tent, designed by Rob Vos. The private suite-like trailer contains household facilities like two adjustable electric beds, a boiler for warm water supply to the kitchen and shower, a ceramic toilet, refrigerator, and low-energy LED lighting. The design aims to revolutionize camping by providing up-to-date amenities to the seemingly traditional camping trailers. It transforms the concept of camping from a conventional cheap holiday to a luxurious modern experience. Opera Camper’s outdoor kitchen includes a piezoelectric two-pit stove, piezoelectric gas barbecue, charcoal barbecue, and a beechwood cutting board. They can all be folded back into the kitchen cupboard when not in use for extra space. Also, the stove runs on the vehicle’s onboard gas instead of the inconvenient heavy gas cylinders. The trailer has a wide track, double axles, hydraulic shocks, and a low center of gravity for extra stability. Additionally, its height and width allow for unobstructed clear views of the rear without the need for mirrors.
