The Tallest residential skyscraper in Germany ‘Grand Tower’ | Magnus Kaminiarz & CIE

Architectural firm Magnus Kaminiarz & Cie has unveiled plans for the “Grand Tower” a 172-meter, 48-story skyscraper in a prominent location in the city of Frankfurt. The renderings boast space for retail outlets on the ground floor as well as a lobby with concierge services, rooftop sundeck, communal green roof and car park. The new design aims to create a new urban landmark for the city of Frankfurt, replacing the Colonia-Haus in Cologne, which was built in 1973, as Germany’s tallest residential structure. The high-rise residential building arranged itself into a base range in connection with the above ground multi-story car park, a shank and the head back-graduated northward, with a clear stress toward the goods place lain south. This arrangement of the tower apartments follows a complex energy simulation in such a way that boosts residents comforts to the highest possible standards. The building’s façade offers privacy as well as wind and sun protection, lends the project a distinctive appearance. The innovative project boasts staggering balconies and a facade with triple-insulated glazing. The balconies serve as oasis during the summer and also double as windscreens. Each balcony will also come equipped with solar panels to supply energy to the building. The building’s glass envelope will allow the sun to act as a free heating source to maximise warmth in the winter. This concept permits a greatest possible transparency for a singular view from each individual apartment. The ground floor of the tower offers two shop surfaces with separate entrances at the Oslo’s road and at the west side, the skyline the Plaza beside a two-floor, representative entrance lobby for the inhabitants of the house turned.

An attached 5-storey parking garage, echoing the striking clean design of the tower, will be accessible to all residents. The upper penthouse levels of the tower cantilever slightly as a result of their larger floor plates. On the 7th floor, the tower offers a common area for all residents with access to a communal green roof on top of the building’s car park, while the 43rd floor invites occupants to relax on a sun deck. The project is set to be completed in 2019.
