Terrai[n] is a conceptual design for RMIT University’s design school. Its ideas revolve around taking the accepted theories of architecture and pushing them to an extreme even if functionality is partially lost. The structure explores speculative learning environments necessary for inspiration and maximum exposure to varied sensations. Cameron Newnham creates a design without any walls where changes in levels delineate specific spaces established. Circulation pathways become distorted since there are no walls or floor patterns to show them; consequently, the entire structure becomes one open walk space that encourages audible connection and involvement.
