Thales Office Complex in Toulouse by LCR Architects
LCR Architectes have finished the design of the new office complex for the aeronautical industry group Thales. The building is located in the southern French city, Toulouse, where the site features a lake surrounded by lush greenery providing a gorgeous view and refreshing atmosphere.
The complex is a nine-floor-high tertiary building with two distinct volumes connected by a core. It is characterized by a level of transparency where a tinted glass curtain wall entirely covers the façades of the building, reducing the transmission of solar radiation and giving a smooth transparent look to the building.
However, what characterizes the façade of the building is the dynamic pattern formed by the sun breakers, surrounding the exterior of its two main volumes. The pattern hides the static relationship between the floor levels. The breakers are white on one side and anthracite gray on the other. The contrast formed by the use of both colors is emphasized by the falling light and shadows.
The overall result is an eye-catchy mass that stands out elegantly between the green shades of vegetation.
