Two days ago, at a private event held at the Marina di Carrara Headquarters, the Italian Sea Group and Giorgio Armani introduced the world to the new 72-meter Admiral megayacht. The 2020-launched concept, conceived by Giorgio Armani and his team in collaboration with the Admiral Style Centre, defines and fuses the DNA of the two companies to create a one-of-a-kind, forward-thinking megayacht.
“The Admiral megayacht is the outcome of an exciting relationship of which I am incredibly proud and an additional reinforcement of our approach of being able to achieve unique projects with Made in Italy companies of excellence that share our values,” remarks Giovanni Costantino, Founder & CEO of The Italian Sea Group.
Giovanni Costantino continued, “Giorgio Armani is always a cut above. His visionary approach to fashion has made us more aware of aesthetic details. Given the numerous compliments and praises from various industry participants, we expect the new Admiral megayacht to take its place as a creative milestone. Consequently, this validates our business approach, which centers around tailoring every aspect of each project to the client’s specific needs.”
Admiral Megayacht
The Admiral megayacht is the first of two yachts that Giorgio Armani designed from the ground up. His signature style is evident throughout, from the sleek exterior to the luxurious interior. The designer’s commitment to everlasting minimalism, which informs all of their work, presents a fresh take on the aristocratic megayacht concept that is both revolutionary and exquisite in its devotion to understated beauty.
The exterior design is thorough and fascinating, with a distinct architectural accent. Massive, geometric volumes are complemented beautifully by milder, curvier curves, creating a dynamic yet stately whole. Within, the vast, full-height glass windows create a sensation of being bathed in brightness and the aquatic environment, the intensity of which may be modified by the strategic placement of moveable panels.
Guests are encouraged to relax and unwind on the yacht’s spacious, rectangular sofas adorned with many decorative pillows. Should any of the guests desire a more private meal, there appears to be a separate, simple dining space just off the main area. Armchairs in a neutral beige tone have been substituted for traditional dining chairs to create a visually pleasing and functional space.
The Giorgio Armani-designed Admiral megayacht features L-shaped lounging areas which greet the guests from the moment they step foot on the boat, allowing them to take in the ever-changing scenery as they cruise the seas.
When night falls, the wood-planked terrace is bathed in a warm fuzzy feeling from the lamps strategically placed on the edges and around the perimeter. The deck of the megayacht is a popular gathering place for both formal and informal gatherings, as guests can take in the passing scenery while enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.
As per Armani Group Chairman and CEO Giorgio Armani’s words, “The sea and design are two of my favorite things in the world. Through this new partnership, I hope to spread my vision of coastal interiors, where form and function are harmoniously combined naturally and elegantly”. Giorgio Armani continued, “This incredibly fascinating initiative has allowed me to build personalized places with Armani/Casa, like made-to-measure clothing, with the same skill given to the selection of materials, details, and manufacturing.”
The Armani/Casa interiors perfectly embody Giorgio Armani’s design ethos with its understated elegance and muted tones. The interior design is daring yet laid-back, with the necessary balance achieved by the expert blending of diverse pieces to create an undeniably one-of-a-kind setting.
The apparent minimalism is counterbalanced by using high-quality, high-end materials, exquisite hand-crafted embellishments, and a sophisticated color palette.
The full specifications of the Admiral megayacht will be unveiled soon. Still, as demonstrated by the photos, the megayacht enjoys some deluxe facilities, including an upper balcony that allows guests to lounge and unwind, a gym space with essential equipment provided, and a massage room to soothe the guests and let them steam off for a while. The Admiral megayacht is scheduled for the beginning of 2024.
