TWDW Taiwan Designer’s week is an event that is aimed at educating the public and to promote their local talents abroad. Since the even has been launched in 2009, it has grown significantly for the past five-year period.
Ben Chiu the executive director, he has the grueling role of curating all the different events involved in the exhibitions. His aim with this event is to expand the world’s awareness of Taiwanese Designers. If a collaborative opportunity were to arrive out of this for the designers, this would help build a bridge between them and the outside world.
This event gives Taiwanese Designers the chance to showcase their work, as with a developing industrial design sector, such exposure is needed. In aiding the success of the event designers are sponsored by their companies aiding additional funds.
The event takes place in a 330 square meter showroom at the Eslite bookstore of the Xinyi Branch. This year’s even is to accommodate 250 Taiwanese Designers, 90 Companies with some attendance from international Designers.
As Taiwanese Designers often lacks confidence and the required communication skills in promoting their products to clients locally and abroad, such an event aids them by allowing their products to speak for them selves.
