Venice to Host New Landmark Stadium Designed by Populous

Plans for a new 18,500-seat landmark stadium in Venice have been unveiled, intended for football, Serie A rugby, and major events like concerts. Designed by Populous and Maffeis Engineering, the project is part of the larger Bosco dello Sport masterplan in Tessera—an expansive 116-hectare hub integrating sports, community, and wellness. Inspired by the natural landscape, the stadium features flowing, elliptical lines that harmonize with the surrounding arena and sports facilities, creating a pavilion-like presence within the park.

The stadium’s façade features vertical elements that make a light, open feel while framing the upper seating bowl. A crescent-shaped podium wraps around the structure, housing parking, and essential services. The seating bowl, designed for optimal views, extends along three sides to enhance the matchday atmosphere. Premium hospitality is located in the West Stand, while dedicated areas for home fans include a 360-degree covered gallery with panoramic views.

The stadium will offer a variety of dining and social areas to enhance the fan experience. Designed with inclusive principles, it ensures accessibility for all. Its flexible layout also allows for Serie A rugby games and concerts, making it a dynamic venue for the wider community.
