The duo of Alexandru Tohotan and Zoltan Zelenyak of the 6th Sense Interiors, Romania have come up with a design story that revolves around time machines. “Indeed, at the center of it, is the ever visited idea of the time machine, but we all have to admit that there is more to time than just time travelling. Time is after all the material life is made of and all the details in between which are constantly added to the common act of growing and evolution are all time constrained” as mentioned on their website.
It is absolutely unique as well as mysterious, and has already mesmerized many since its photos first appeared on the Facebook page of the firm. The bar has been claimed to be the “the world’s first kinetic steampunk bar.”
Their story starts with a giant naked clock, as a representative of time. It is the first thing that one observes upon entering simply because of the sheer size and crude mechanics that are clearly visible. They tried to physically manifest the idea of time by depicting the clock from the inside.
Upon entering the bar one is greeted by a weirdly terrifying robot. It is bicycling in order to power a plasma bike lamp which eventually keeps the clock running. The design drives analogy from the situation of humans as mere slaves of time. They exert themselves to keep up with the running time and search for the truth in between the labyrinth of life. It also produces shocks with the synaptic connections inside its transparent skull.
The walls and ceiling are covered with mechanical adventures, moving and rotating in a pattern. All of these symbolize a particular aspect in the story of time. The fragmented textures and the course metal board depicts how we grow bit by bit with time. The ceiling patterns and the multiple industrial boards shows the multiple possibilities life puts in front of us, and it is finally our choice that makes us what we are. The metallic flower and a live moving bird further add to the list of these dynamic mysteries. The lighting lamps are also fashioned to match the raw ambience.
Its interior realizes the fantasy of many, of what it is to live inside an active mechanical machine. Instead of concealing these kinetic mechanical settings, the place celebrates these by displaying them as a pieces of sheer mystery.
It took around two years for putting in life into this mechanical settings. The client must be very pleased as this pub is definitely going to be a successful venture even if not much attention is paid to gastronomy. It seems that the enigmatic experience of this place will itself be enough for getting in new customers!
